STEPHEN LATERRA

Home:  Avon, CO

Occupation:  Owner and Operator of 4 Pine Design LLC

OBJECTIVE:  To apply the knowledge and experience I have gained over the last twenty years in the development, design and construction of terrain parks and related features.

QUALIFICATIONS

For a decade and a half I have been involved with the development of the modern terrain park and associated events.  Ten years of this time were spent at North America’s #1 Ski Resort, Vail.  My duties included overseeing every aspect of mountain operations and event planning. From a World championship and top five rated world events to the day-to-day construction and management duties I contributed significantly to Vail’s excellent standing in the industry.  Mastering many forms of grooming and construction equipment along with working closely with risk management and senior management staff has allowed me to gain critical knowledge of the departments and tasks needed to manage any terrain park design and construction project.  In addition I have been heavily involved with all my sponsors product development and testing.

As the terrain park designer my duties were to design and manage the construction and maintenance of four separate parks and up to three half pipes.  I managed a crew of six equipment operators including myself along with twelve, daytime maintenance laborers.  In addition to my day-to-day duties I was also in close communication with senior management, risk management and resort marketing to assist them in their fields of terrain park support.
